Re: 2012 Doomsday Coming!

I don't think we have until 2012... my calendar is much more recent (printed in 2008) and only goes until December 31, 2009.

That is an awful lot of swag to put in one cache. What size container are you using, Mr. Shoesgod?

Re: Hans Brinker Cache

From the title of the cache, I get the impression that it has something to do with nearby Hoover Reservoir. But I can't figure out the part about "the coordinates to the actual cache location can be found in this photo." I've tried extracting the photo metadata. I tried converting to black...

Mrs. and I will be there (with mini-cachers) to help early set-up. What is a good time?

Re: Feedback from Email by jslagle - Includes Poll

I've been reading these posts over the last several days, thinking about how I could contribute. I also wondered if I really needed to. I wasn't sure. As a casual cacher, forum lurker, and occasional meet-and-greet attendee, I wasn't sure if my thoughts would be relevant. I finally began to realize ...

Re: basic GPSr advice, please!

I agree with Gizmo's observations. You're not going to find much in the way of handheld GPS or accessories in a department or electronics store. A few of the basic units are available, but even those aren't always priced competitively with what is available online. My Garmin came from tigergps.com, ...

Need kid-friendly hunt near Northwood

I've got a co-worker with a Cx hooked on the caching bug, but it's a heck of a time of the year for him to be starting out. Since he described it to his kids (10 and 8), they've been bugging him every night to go. He went out this weekend to Rally by the Rails (GZ12K3Z). I wasn't with him but it sou...

Re: Garmin vs. GSAK vs. Windows Vista.

I checked tigerdirect.com. Look under "Laptops/Notebooks," then "XP Pro Laptops." There were 35 hits.

I didn't look at them closely. Some of them are refurbs. It's just a thought.

Re: Should we continue the calendar or not?

The only time I've ever gone into calendar is to see what all of our visitors are looking at. Some of them sure do like to plan things way in advance.
