Re: What Defines This Group and Who Makes Decisions?

What about keeping the "home" page, but changing the content?

Move the "News (event calendar)" to an "Calendar" item in the left hand menu, and replace it with static (or nearly static) content.

Give GizmoGuy a break - just a slight mispelling. Should be coord.info (no s in it).

http://coord.info/GC1M922

I've used it for caches, but didn't realize one could use it for travel bugs as well. Thanks for pointing it out.

Re: What Defines This Group and Who Makes Decisions?

My friends at the Central Ontario Geocachers use a front end to their forums. You might want to take a peek at what their doing. They've been running a poll for sometime, as to how many people go straight to the forum, as opposed to coming in via the front page (I'm in the latter group). It's curren...

Re: Oldest Cache That You Found...Active or Archive

Several of us found Beverly (Hidden: 5/13/2000), on 11/6/05, while on a caching trip to Chicago.

COG Spring Fling [June 6, 2009]

Come attend the COG Spring Fling this year. This is your opportunity to cache in Ontario and help COG achieve mega event status (it would be the first mega in Ontario) this year. The event will run from 9am - 5pm, with camping available on Friday & Saturday night. Hotels are available 10 minutes...

Re: Xmas Toys

Just a few low tech items for me.

A picture frame to hold some of my pathtags. I put a few of my NWO friends tags on it: TMA, Yogi57, BBD, and the Bearclaws.

And, a couple of cache containers. I just need to find a pine tree. 8-)

GizmoGuy, looking for them, might slow down your find rate. 8-(

Re: Changing cache page text appearance

Nvu was mentioned in the older thread, though it's been replaced by KompoZer.

I've used it to create cache pages - it's very easy to use.

Re: I need a new gps, and have no clue about them.

Unless you bought a kit of some sort, to my knowledge, City Navigator has always been an extra. The Legend HCx and the 60Cx (or 60CSx) ship with "Garmin MapSource Trip and Waypoint Manager". City Navigator, Topo, ... come at an added cost. If you purchase one of the 400 series Colorado's o...

Re: I need a new gps, and have no clue about them.

No matter which GPSr you buy, consider purchasing GSAK ($25) to manage your waypoints. It's got tons of features and will allow you to upload the coordinates directly into a supported GPS. EasyGPS (free), allows you to upload the GPX and/or LOC files into one's GPS, but is very basic compared to GSA...

Over in NEO they call them a "Chum Bucket", in an effort to prevent theft.

Words to 12 days of geocaching?

At one of the NWO Christmas events a few years ago (2004?), we sang a geocaching equivalent to the 12 days of Christmas, using the same tune.

Does anyone have the words to it?

Re: New Garmins on they're website

Shawn, I read where firmware v2.60 was just released (yesterday?). Looks like the added some enhancements, as well as fixed a number of issues. Yep, have the Colorado. Other than a few minor details I love it. HOpefully a few of those items are taken care of in the next firmware release. I don't hav...

Re: It is not about the numbers

I use this site to create my Ohio Counties Visited map on my profile.

*I* have to figure out which counties I visited by overlaying my finds PQ on top of a map, but it's fairly easy to maintain.
