Re: Which GPS Do You Like??
Haven't found the perfect GPS unit yet. Features I would like would be a l-a-r-g-e display screen, preferably at least 4" diagonal. Color of course, hi-res or better. Should have replaceable AA batteries, not a proprietary battery pack. Uses a regular USB or some type of standard tether to load...

Strange things happen.....
A couple of days ago, Mrs Grizzflyer's employer called her and asked if geocachers left geocaches on front porches without the property owners permission. About a month ago, she found the cache on her front porch, and didn't know what to do about it. It is GCA614 , the Buckeye Trail CD Music Xchange...

Re: IPAD 3 software??
Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I'll wait until the June 5 meeting and pick some brains. Was at another meeting (a radio enthusiasts group) last week, and there were three different tablets there. An Asus, a Samsung Galaxy, and an iPad3. One I know I won't get, another isn't too bad, but t...

IPAD 3 software??
I'm seriously considering an ipad3 purchase. What geocaching software is available? I'm looking for something that I can use to grab caches on the fly when I find myself somewhere out of the immediate area. Took a look at groundspeak's offering, and the reviews seem to have too many unsatisfied user...

Utah power trail
Ran across this one while looking at some other stuff. Nice power trail if anyone is going to mid-Utah this summer. THIS cache is in it. To see the power trail, bring up the cache then hit the geocaching maps and look-see.

Re: Virtual Travelbugging????
That is how Rufus find TB's! Okay, now for my more serious comment. A while back I ran across a cacher who had found discovered a large number of Jeep travel bugs. He was just randomly entering numbers until he got a hit. Apparently he has a lot more time on his hands than I do. I can not remember ...

Virtual Travelbugging????
Recently had a log on a TB I've been watching, where it was discovered "on a gallery page". Never have seen that before, so I did a bit of looking around on the Groundspeak forum regarding that subject. Found THIS thread. Seems some folks are logging TB's that they have never had in their ...

Re: GPS Adventures Exhibit
I'll probably hit it for the same reason as Allenite. Plus, it should be somewhat interesting. Some other caches nearby too. Too bad it isn't there a week earlier, I'll be in Dayton for 2 days then for the HamVention.

Re: Some updated GC.com stuff
Make it a requirement of the cache that the FTF has to carry an indelible marker and inscribe the GC number on the container. Naw, that would then make it an ALR cache, not allowed. From now on, I'm going to micro-engrave the GC number on the cache container. Sort of like what they've been doing wit...

Was recently sent THIS You Tube link for a video posted by GoGeocaching concerning Favorites. So-so, but the suggested similar video list to the right has some good stuff.

Re: Can someone please translate this into normal words?
Here's some more from the May 2012 issue of Monitoring Times: Politically-Tinged LightSquared Shambles After a brief stint last year as a much-bally-hooed Future-of-Rural-Broadband scheme, Light-Squared this year has found itself in a shambles. Unceremoniously skewered by the FCC, barred by the owne...

Re: Google Maps to return
I've been using a Greasemonkey app on Firefox to seamlessly get Google maps on geocaching. Works pretty well. Looks like I can disable it in the near future.

Re: Updated Challenge Cache Rules
I'd like to see 2 more guidelines..... 1) the owner of a challenge cache must have personally completed the requirements of said cache, and 2) the physical cache itself should be somewhat commensurate with the difficulty of the challenge. While number 2 will never happen, and would be difficult to q...

Re: Updated Challenge Cache Rules
There are a few challenge caches in Ohio that prohibit prior finds, and it seems that not too many people bothered to complete those requirements. The new #5 rule takes care of that. Suits me fine. I say "good on the frog....".
