Re: Which GPS Do You Like??
On the original topic, are any of you noticing that when people use their smart phones to hide/place caches the coordinates are way off? Or do you think that they are just not checking to see if the marked spot is acurate?

Re: Another bad idea for cache placement
When we see it in the news, you can call them and tell the public that it was a bad idea in the first place.

Re: SQ archived...
Not sure how old this cache was.
I have seen a lot of older caches archived due to the acts of others.

Re: Caches destined to be be archived or adopted
The Foul Ball cache in mcComb will probably be archived soon. This is a shame since this cache has been there since July of 2004. With older caches harder to find, I feel we need to not put "Needs Archived" logs on caches until you look into it's history. There have been two "needs ar...

Re: what do you take caching
Hand sanitizer, leatherman tool, tweezers (for lucust tree slinters), flash light, and pen/pencil.
I try to take a camera. I made a caching trip a few months ago and saw three bald eagles and none of them were close enough to capture with my phone camera.

Re: Caches destined to be be archived or adopted
There is a note from Keystone on Foul Ball in McComb about being archived. This cache was hidden in 2004 and I would hate to see it archived. I posted a note to assume the cache thru adoption. How can I make this happen?

Re: Which GPS Do You Like??
My Magellan GC has had over 4,000 GPX files stored in it at once. This makes it nice for caching along a route if you are going on longer trips. It sometimes times when it freezes for a few seconds and updates slowly. But it is as accurate as any oterh unit I have used. The biggest downfall I have s...

"For caching events with several elements, multiple event listings may be submitted if each element stands on its own merits as an event, and meets the listing guidelines. After an event has passed, the listing is archived by the cache owner." Here is the event I had planned afterwards. IN...
Re: WWFM 9
My WWFM event will probably archived later today. In order to hold an additional event consecutively with the flash mob, it has to be listed as one event. Which means if I have the flash mob from 9:45 to 10:00, and another event from 10:00 to noon, a person showing up at 11:55 will get credit for th...
Re: WWFM 9
I am debating on a CITO event prior to the flash mob in McComb. What are everyone's thoughts? There is the park, a cemetery, and soccer fields that we could pick up trash in depending on the amount of people that show up. Also, Findlay is having a Bicentennial celebration at the fair grounds. It is ...
Re: WWFM 9
My event is published and the after event is submitted.
Re: WWFM 9
I thought about having one down our way but if the Toledo area has one, our mob will be pretty small.
Thought about following it up with a cache building event to seed more local caches.

Re: State Nature Preserves-ODNR
Not saying anyone is breaking the rules. Sometimes we think the rules are a little strict and we hear people complaining about Keystone not allowing a cache to be published or a park not allowing a cache to be placed. If we follow the rules, caching will remain fun for all. On a side note, if you th...

Re: State Nature Preserves-ODNR
These rules/regulations need to be respected. Sometimes they may seem out dated or too strict but rules and guidelines are there for a reason. If they are broken too many times a total ban could be enacted and enforced.
