Re: NWOGEO Coin
I now see the tank, but it should be a side view. The "rocket" is another thing. I thought it looked like a Popsicle. Just call me someone from SW Ohio who happened to live 4 years at BGSU some years ago. LOL

Re: NWOGEO Coin
I wish I still had the link. But, the "rocket" is the ODOT logo of sorts of the MRC bridge. Here's the best view I could find:
MRC
I don't mind switching to a more "bridge" like picture, that one was just one I found at an MRC site as the "vision" of the bridge.
I've asked to profile the tank, so it shows up more like a tank, less like a satellite. And, I didn't use any specific building in Findlay. I'd be open to suggestions on that one.
Oh, and word back from Rusty is :
Yellow is the color his software uses for easy to read graphics. It is NOT representative of the coin metal or color at all. All dark yellow is raised metal, and light yellow is recessed metal.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
Hey you could do a fort for Findlay. That would also cover all the other forts that were in NW Ohio. Or how about a few words from Tell Taylors Down by the Old Mill Stream.

That would be fine, except we are trying to portray only NW Ohio.stepshep wrote:Maybe the Capitol Building?

Re: NWOGEO Coin
I know the NW icons suggestions thread is elsewhere.
The bridge symbol seems kind of esoteric. I wonder if it will catch on, and if it will be recognized.
I remember when "Toledo Alive" was a big well recognized symbol around here. We even painted it on the side of one of our F-16 aircraft. A year later it was kaput...

Re: NWOGEO Coin
"Toledo Alive" was an ad campaign, kind of like the Tole"DO" campaign now. The MRC will be the second tallest structure in NWO.

Here is where the MRC symbol came from
MRC symbol
I agree that the bridge is a worthy icon for the Toledo area, I just don't know that the symbol itself will become recognized.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
I recognized the MRC symbol right away. It actually looks very much like the main tower for the bridge. I can't wait to see the final on this. I'll purchase several.

Re: NWOGEO Coin
I'm liking the silver coin as I saw the sample at the unofficial Meet & Eat last night. The front is awesome. The back - I hesitate to comment on as I have no suggestions to improve on it, but I will. I think its getting pretty 'busy' and I think there is definitely to possibility of leaving a NWO city off of the design. Just a few thoughts. I will be buying some when they are completed. It is a great idea for NWOGEO to have its own geocoin!
Re: NWOGEO Coin
There's a guy in Cincinnati who wants one too. I also posted the design on the national forums to get ideas from the Geocoin addicts, they all love it. If there is any post I should edit, or remove let me know. I'm really sorry if I shouldn't have done that and will see it get removed ASAP if I have to.

Words cannot describe my IRE with you at this point. Were I not out doing something else, I would have caught this sooner. As an example to other posters, I will only state the facts, and refrain from pointing the flamethrower shooting out of my ears:stepshep wrote:There's a guy in Cincinnati who wants one too. --Please don't post anything about this coin on gc.com. It currently violates gc.com guidelines and the artwork is not final in any way, shape, or form.
--This coin was not designed to be for sale to the general public in any way
--Please ask local and Steering Committee members before you post items in the national forums that reflect the entire organization.
I will now spend the rest of my evening answering trade/buy emails from the geocoin public and discussing with the gc.com moderators how to remove that thread.
Thanks
