Somehow I would've expected the mention of it being plastic, like the Metroparks are.

But...no micros!

I don't see it in the policy, BUT the officer told me that ammo cans are NOT allowed.

Not that it will necessarily happen, but I hope there is not a sudden inundation of requests. That may prove counterproductive. I would recommend we take it slow...

Actually I told them that this may happen. The didn't seem concerned, but they did say that there would only be a certain number allowed in each section. They didn't say how many though.

Another thing to consider is to make special mention in your writeup of the cache to be careful of the fact that hunting IS allowed in these areas. I believe some of the caches that had been there in years past were even disabled by the owners during hunting season.

I think if I placed a cache in there, I very well might temporarily disable during hunting season. Even hunter's orange isn't a guarantee.

BTW I like the "smallest" container size.

This is all still quite exciting!
We've been wanting to place a cache near Franklin Cemetery since the first time we stumbled across it years ago.

If the hours are dawn to 11 pm, we can do some night time caches.

We drove right by it today, almost stopped to scout it again!
But we had a long walk ahead of us to get to.

After I got home, I went to the ODNR website and found this: #10-34 Geocache Policy - Division of Forestry.

I will wait until they get back with me to confirm that this is what they are using. The date on the policy coincides with the "last fall" time frame that they told me that the policy was changed.
This looks like the document sent to me by ODNR last fall as "final." I'm happy to see they put it up on their website. That makes my job a lot easier. Some folks think that it's me imposing the rules rather than the land manager.

I got the email this morning. The policy that I posted on Friday is the correct one for Maumee State Forest.
