At first I thought I was in the Jokes forum but what a great idea  !! My favorite mayor is in Emerald City, you know, the place at the end of the yellow brick road, Wizard Of Oz. And monkeys do fly out of my ... from time to time so I'm qualified.

The "Think Before You Hide" phrase should be a motto/slogan/tagline of sorts!

If we create a new banner appearance that will be used on GC cache pages, then maybe it should contain that phrase along with our logo.

Sounds like another possible poll, even if the "mayor" one does not fly!

I've spent some time looking around our site and have found the following topics that are beginning to coalesce together. No one thread is ready to bring all these ideas together yet. As the idea of combining these ideas moves forward, we can probably close these threads in favor of just a couple.

Gizmoguy> Since you've just obtained a green light to make website changes maybe it's a bit to soon to close all these threads? It would be nice to have them all grouped together though for a while to see if they've really ran their course. What if you started a new topic under Website Related Forums called Website Changes and Cache Placement Issues and moved all of the threads there for a week or so? More people may be inclined to comment after knowing that something will actually be happening.

If anyone knows someone who no longer visits this site for whatever reason maybe they could let them know about this for a chance to stop by and contribute, having all these threads together would make it easy for them.

Agreed. That is what I meant above.

I had not thought of that. So rather than openning new threads, just let these run their course for now. At the moment they are pretty spread around. Moving them to one place could work. It takes some effort however, so I may not be able to get to it for a few days.

So, heres another suggestion (take it or leave it): When hiding your first couple of caches, why not enlist a more seasoned "hider" as a "mentor" to you and bounce ideas off them. I know it seems a little wierd but 2 heads are better than one, and they might be able to give you a voice of experience on this. Just a suggestion.

Enlisting the help of a more experienced cacher / hider as a mentor along with reading the guide lines sounds like a good Idea.

At a minimum the new hider should have found a significant number of caches. I would think 50 - 100 is a reasonable number.
