Harrison Lake SP

Post by Bjorn74 »

Anyone know enough about the park to answer some questions about it? Like could it handle a bunch of people (on the order of 500+) for a weekend? It's hard to know how busy a park is over the summer.

I was looking for experience with being there. I don't know why everyone assumes that I haven't seen that page.

Perhap, because you have provided no information for us to believe to otherwise. I will not speak for the others. But I am not a mindreader.

It's a fairly big park, but the primative section is fairly small, and across the lake from the big RV section.

Nice park though!

If it's a big weekend, the sites fill quickly. You have a better chance of getting a site on "off weekends", especially early or late in the camping season. It has LOTS of trails (used to go to Cross Country camp there in H.S.) and on the north side of the lake there's a shelter the same size as the "Cloak and Dagger" event. Also there is a nearby 4H Camp (Camp Palmer) that one could contact to see if there was any possibility of renting thier facilities (but I wan't a 4Her, so I don't really know whats back there.) It is much less busy than East Harbor or Maumee Bay Park.

Does anyone know if groups can use the Maumee groups camp in Maumee State Forest or how large that area is? That's closer to a lot more wooded areas.
