Re: No more additional logging requirements allowed
Some newbie just tried to log Birds Eye View with the only comment being EASY. I don't think the other finders would agree, but this is what will happen to lots of caches if they enforce this dumb rule.

Did the newbie in fact sign the log in the container? Unfortunately that is all that is now required (in the eyes of The Powers That Be).

Is there log container? If not. I would delete the log.GoodDog wrote:Some newbie just tried to log Birds Eye View with the only comment being EASY. I don't think the other finders would agree, but this is what will happen to lots of caches if they enforce this dumb rule.

Good Dog:
The way I read it, you just email Keystone, and request they change the cache type to Mystery. That's not how things were done when that was hidden, because there wasn't any puzzle, but this is a much different geo-world.

That's not the way I read it, but my brain is fried so I have an excuse.

Not how I read it, unfortunately. "Optional and simple task" may not work here. Sure changes the rational for the D/T rating. Maybe we can get our heads together and help Good Dog find a solution.

Bird's Eye View: The way I understand it is that you would unfortunately have to make the aerial photo and tasks optional or archive it. That sucks!

And I was gathering up a group of cachers and already lined up my method of completing this one......guess that idea is out the window now.GoodDog wrote:Some newbie just tried to log Birds Eye View with the only comment being EASY. Re: No more additional logging requirements allowed
Despite recent developments I am still interested in getting this one off my "closest" page using the procedure as originally envisioned by the owner.
Although I have limited capability to perform this one myself, I do have some unique skills that I could add to any team that is planning on accomplishing it (are you listening thunter?)
I know how to unfold and place a sheet with a big number on it onto the ground.
I also have experience buying newspapers, just point me in the right direction.

Maybe we should talk to the owner and get something worked out then.cheechgang wrote:Despite recent developments I am still interested in getting this one off my "closest" page using the procedure as originally envisioned by the owner.

Re: No more additional logging requirements allowed
Bird's Eye View is still open for business, at least for now. A team approach is fine, as long as everyone participates. Photographer, vidiographer, producer, Best Boy, caterer, ground support etc. Also, you can use any method previously used if you want. Although a rocket with a web cam would be cool. (available at the Hobby Lobby in BG for about $60.) A large enough team would cover the expense.

A large enough team could build a human pyramid.
Re: No more additional logging requirements allowed
If you're looking to form a team, I'd be willing to participate but I don't think I'm interested in a human pyramid. Does the $60 include both the webcam and the rocket?

I LOVE THIS IDEA!![/b] You Tube get ready' This would be the best ever.TheBearclaws wrote:A large enough team could build a human pyramid.
You may be able to find one cheaper on line, but the rocket does include the camera. I don't think it's a web cam, just a digital. Maybe Hobby Lobby has an on line store.
Re: No more additional logging requirements allowed
We are interested in joining the team as well.
Any idea when is the next time the Google Earth satellite will fly over the field and take a shot? We would gladly contribute a 10 pack of sheets and a few cans of spray paint to help scale the number up enough to be visible to the satellite.
More seriously, I know that Hobby Town USA in Holland has a $50 rocket with a still camera attached. It shoots 110 bar film and one roll is included with the rocket.
