Bell Magnetic Key Holder Source wanted

Post by Mighty_Mo »

I need a Bell Magnetic Key Holder to put a spare key in for my son. A drive from Wauseon back to Monclova to open an running car seemed like a waste.

So where to buy a Bell Magnetic Key Holder?

That looks just like the ones we bought to put a couple of our micros in from...sorry to say...Walmart. However, we've learned from experience from more than one occasion, to pop the magnet out and reglue with super glue. They tend to pop out fairly easily.

Thanks for the info and the caution to reglue the magnet. This will be a real key holder to prevent interrupting a meal with my grandson again. Well the meal was over but the urgency to leave was expidited by the phone call and Matt's (panic driven) suggestion that he figure out how to break into a car with 16,000 miles on it. 8O

We had a spare key in the house but I needed to look in several places to find it.

Caching has presented many magnetic key holders and the Bell looks to be one of the best. I will pop out the magnet and reglue though.

GE markets one that has very strong magnets and a model with a combo lock on it. The last time I noticed one for sale it was at Horn Lock and Key at the corner of AW Trail and Conant in Maumee. Not cheap, but well built.

Some keys are very thick with the keyless entry buttons built into the grip. Also, I remember some of the Geo and Ford keys being very long and oversized.

Additionally, some such keys can be substituted with a regular key, while others can not because they contain a security chip they must be present for the key to work.
