That sucks...I guess I am going to have to shell out 10 bucks for the official gc.com app.

Re: c:geo abandoned
Its all about the $$$ with gc. Read the reviews for c:geo and also for the gc.com app, and you'll see why people went with the c:geo app.
Maybe somebody will pick up the ball and run with the c:geo app.

Re: c:geo abandoned
Hopefully gc will update their app. It just seems like they should be able to make it the #1 geocaching app in the world, but it has a ways to go to. I'd gladly pay a one-time $10 for a decent geocaching app that works well and has all the bells and whistles.
Maybe its in the wings, ready to go ?????

Re: c:geo abandoned
The only one I have found that works well is Cachemate for the android system, BUT, It requires a Premium membership to be worth a crap because you need pocket querys. c:Geo was a great stand alone app and I didn't even bother attempting to use the "official" app due to shotty reviews and it actually looked 1/2 assed off the bat.
As of today, C:geo is still working and when I find free time, I may actually use it again!

It appears to still be working. It will locate caches...I haven't tried to navigate to or log caches yet though.

Re: c:geo abandoned
C:geo now only lists gc numbers for caches. It doesn't know the name until it is clicked on. It also lists them all as blue squigglies. The end is near.

C:Geo is working fine for me. I posted a log and used it to look at cache pages in the field just yesterday. Just brought it up again while posting this.

Re: c:geo abandoned
I bought the official app a little bit ago. Thus far, I am not very impressed. I give it a few days to know for sure how I like it. Right now I am seriously missing the live maps that c:geo had.

Re: c:geo abandoned
I think especially with the first edition of the geocaching app they probably had so many people asking when the android app was coming out that they put something out to get people of thier back. The 2.0 edition of the app is greatly improved but it still has a way to go.

Re: c:geo abandoned
Tried c:geo again last night, it was back working again. It was "down" for about 3-4 days here, wouldn't do squat.
Look at the reviews the gc app gets on the gc forum. There are some upset folks over there. Think I'll wait for a while and see if the soon-to-be-coming version is better. In the meantime, I just do pocket queries and load them to the phone in about 10 seconds, and use GeoBeagle and Software Data Cable.

Re: c:geo abandoned
I used geobeagle for a little while, but finally broke down and bought smittyware's cachemate. cachemate was a bit more feature rich when it came to sorting and navigating to a cache.

Re: c:geo abandoned
There is a new version of c:geo out, and it works very well. At the Market, it is c:geo opensource. Very fast, at least for now. Same interface, just spruced up a bit, and whatever was broken in Canero's c:geo is now fixed.
