Lost Oregon Climbers

I just heard a good story on CNN. The two lost climbers on Mt. Hood have been found thanks to a geocache!
They got lost in a snow strom, decided to build a snow cave, and built one right on top of a geocache. They opened the geocache up and found the coords right in the container. They thought their cell had died, but warmed it up with their bodies. The sheriff actually called them, and thanks to the cache coordinates they were quickly picked up. That cache on Mt. Hood was probably a 3/3 by their standards, but a 300/300 by our NWO. standards. I wonder what the GC# was? It will probably be on the GC forums for those of you with all that time on your hands.

Mrs Bearclaw saw this on CNN today and the reporter kept saying "Geo-Catch" LOL. Here's the cache that saved them.

I just found a page that not only tells the story, it includes a video of the guy saying Geo-Catch.

I just saw the link that Rick put up. These people are idiots. They tried to beat a storm and didn't take a mountain locator with them. I understand the locators are available at any climbing or outdoor store and are only about $20 ? Two very dumb mistakes.

Did anyone notice that the cache hider is actually a volunteer search and rescue? Maybe they should hide a lot MORE geocaches for people like this!

Then hopefully more lost people can catch some geos.
