Excitement is building towards March 29th and the Belle Isle event, GC17HBP.
With the big turn out last year and the good time had by all, we are looking for the same type of event this year.
Currently there are 29 active caches on the island.
Brummelbear and I have been working for several months now on this year’s new caches. At this time there will be at least 30 new caches scheduled on the island. The new caches will be released, as in the past few years, at this event. There are also many caches just off of the island as well.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Re: Belle Isle Spring Event
I did this one last year with Tagalong and Jimbobwe. It's a great event. Get there in time for breakfast!
Re: Belle Isle Spring Event
The countdown is on! Only 7 days to go.
All is going well with the plans for a good time. I am still calling for 60 and partly sunny, Farmer’s Almanac is calling for nice seasonal, Detroit’s weather people are the only ones looking a 45 degrees. All of which make for great caching weather on the island!
Be sure to look at the updates on start times for the event. With so much caching available the start times have been bumped a bit to add time to the day. Also with daylight saving it should be light until about 8pm.
The co-ords have been shot and they have now been checked on 3 separate days for accuracy. The total of new caches to be released at the event is now at 38!
Cachers are in for a real treat at this event. DarrylW4 & Firefly03 are compiling and event booklet to be handed out to each team. These booklets will have full descriptions of each caches on the island, both old and new caches to be released. They are also making the full booklet available in a PDF files with hyperlinks for those who have internet access on the island.
Tikibirds are making up all of the GPX files that we will have available. These files will be on jump drives for those who carry a laptop (weather or not you have internet access). They will also be on a few laptops for download into your GPS, so bring your cables. These GPX files will also have full description of the cache pages for those who can load the in your PDA’s or Palm’s. Of course those with the new Garmin’s they will have the on page descriptions as well.
A big THANK YOU goes out to DarrylW4 & Firefly03 along with the Tikibirds for all of the time and hard work to make things easier for all the cachers who attend!
