A spot burned in the LCD screen and batteries keep emptying themselves, when the unit is turned off. Forums/viewtopic/t=564/start=45/postday ... ight=.html
Others have reported that inserting the batteries backwards can cause this problem also!
Can this be fixed by replacing the LCD screen, and if, where can I get one?

Did you try calling Garmin? I've heard of plenty of success stories, even when out of warranty. It never hurts to ask.

I agree. The post you pointed to was mine, and Garmin took care of me out of warranty without me even asking for special treatment. It is worth a try!

Re: Garmin 60csx:A spot burned in the LCD screen
The burn spot is actually in the backlight for the display and not the actual LCD panel. However they are likley one unit, and it is highly UNLIKELY that replacing it will fix the problem. It is more likely that the entire subassembly will need to be replaced.GPSUSER234 wrote:A spot burned in the LCD screen and batteries keep emptying themselves, when the unit is turned off.
