Re: What's in a name? (Geo-Name)
I have enjoyed this tread. There were many ways that our name came to pass. When I first registered with GC I made the mistake sign up with my old email name. When we finally went out and found a cache my wife said it was the first find for the Bapman Crew. The kids got a kick out of it so I changed the account on GC.
My favorite hero has always been Batman because he doesn't have super hero powers. Like him my 1st name is Bruce. A neighbor girl would call me b-man, which sometimes would become BAP-man. BAP are my real initials. So it just all fell in place. 1700 finds later many in the caching world just call me Bap.

haroldandrews on GC for Harold Andrews. I usually don't care to go anony anywhere. My avatar is the logo for the International Harvester Corporation. I have spent many hours on my favorite red tractors.

amillikin09 is just my first initial and last name. 09 is my HS grad year, to prove my youngness. I'm not one for creating fake names, so I usually just go with this. Although people have interpreted my name to mean different things. I've heard people call it "A Milk Man 09."
Re: What's in a name? (Geo-Name)
Kelt.
This is pretty simple: I am a Celt . It's pronounced with a hard "C" , not like the Basketball team from Boston.
I'm originally from Cornwall in the Southwest of the UK. In the Cornish language, Cornwall is known as "Kernow" and so it became a simple jump for me to spell my handle with a "K" as now it has the hard "C" sound, and also gives a hat-tip to my heritage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornwall
I had to add the period after it as there's a cacher three day user in Slovenia who has my intended spelling.
and yes I wear a Kilt too, as I am a member of one of the original 7 Celtic Nations though I typically do not wear tartan (it's like wearing a tuxedo to a burger joint) I wear kilts made by the Utilikilt company of Seattle :http://www.utilikilts.com/
Four letters and a period... really easy to sign on tiny logs too

Gee, that's a thing on gc.com. I was trying to re-name myself cachergirl, but there is someone out there who registered, never validated the account, never logged back in & they're obviously just "taking a break from this hobby" per the powers that be. Dang.Kelt. wrote:Kelt.

TB,SS - this is why we have the " " around our name. Some folks in Utah already had it and when we sent in our first membership money their account was credited.
Thanks for the great explanation of your name Kelt..
